Shift Lead- Injection Moulding Production Operations

Opportunity to lead a team of Injection Moulding Production Operators at Nolato Sligo.

Nolato Sligo is an award-winning mould-building company, and a growing medical device precision injection moulding business that has been successfully serving Ireland and the broader European markets for over 35 years. Avenue also brings expertise in building ultra-high-c device, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical markets.

The primary responsibility of the Shift Lead is to lead a team of employees to fulfill production requirement daily and ensure the injection moulding machines are set up and running correctly to produce high quality components for the Medical Device and Pharma industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, distribute work, and monitor production for all employees on the shift, including training new employees or creating new work processes.
  • Complete all necessary documentation for production during the shift.
  • Recommend improvement when needed for quality, cost, documentation, and other areas related to production.
  • Plan and utilise resources to maximise productivity, and resource deployment in the event of unplanned absence.
  • Work with Production Planning and scheduling to ensure work is completed on time.
  • Monitor overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Oversee correct packing and labelling of products for shipping.
  • Ensure that all company policies and procedures are adhered to by employees.
  • Promote Health & Safety and 6S and ensure Good Manufacturing Practices are being adhered to by employees.
  • Ensure a smooth transition to the next shift by relaying production related information as it pertains to shift, production, or the business as needed
  • Clear communication with all departments including Technical, Supply Chain, Quality and Toolmaking on matters impacting Production.
  • Point of contact for all direct reports on matters related to attendance, timekeeping, motivation, and general performance.

Skills and Experience:

 

  • Relevant work experience in Production/ Clean room operations
  • Previous experience of leading, overseeing, and motivating a team essential.
  • Technical knowledge of materials and injection moulding techniques
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Professional communication skills
  • Strong Organisation and Time Management skills
  • Experience in process improvement desirable
