Process Technician

Come join Nolato Contour's team as a process technician! You will be primarily responsible for using established production procedures, tools, and equipment to set up production work cells and molds in various molding machines.

Nolato Contour specializes in injection molding and assembly of plastic and silicone for medical/pharma customers.

We have immediate openings for process technicians on 12-hour day shifts and 12-hour night shifts.

  • Uses and follows standard operating procedures to set-up molds in a variety of molding machines
  • Uses and follows written workmanship standards
  • Demonstrates and understands molding and manufacturing terminology
  • Is aware of general equipment hazards, follows and applies all safety rules
  • Can troubleshoot basic equipment failures
  • Use applicable hand tools, air tools and equipment to perform mold and auxiliary equipment set-up functions
  • Responds to machine alarms in a timely manner
  • Understands the Real Time readout and has a working knowledge of all aspects of the IQ system.  Has demonstrated the ability to utilize our MRP system for viewing requirements, printing work orders, and viewing the production schedule.
  • Understands the use and application of all material handling and drying equipment
  • Can describe the total functions of a molding press through a complete molding cycle
  • Report irregularities (such as high scrap rates) to the Team Lead or Lead Tech
  • Know the location and demonstrates an understanding of the proper use of machine safety controls
  • Understands and can perform Water Main Shutoff procedure and Electrical Power Down/Power Up procedure
  • Support and comply with all ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14000 Policies, Procedures, SOP’s, Work Instructions as they apply to the job classification or specifically assigned job and complete as directed all required training related to these standards.


  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional training or education in a related field such as; hydraulics, electronics, or mechanics desired
  • Six months’ experience in the plastics industry is desired
  • Prior experience in an FDA or ISO environment is desired
  • Ability to use various forms of instruction; i.e. written, verbal, schematic, and visual samples
  • Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of polymers and basic tool design
  • Demonstrates basic blueprint reading ability 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have good attendance
  • Employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift or move up to 70 pounds.


  • 12-hour shifts from either 7:00 AM-7:30 PM or 7:00 PM-7:30 AM                                                                 12-hour shifts are on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule; 2 days working, 2 days off, 3 days working. Work 3 days one week and 4 days next week – have every other weekend off!
