At Nolato we are proud over our achievements in sustainable development and wanted to share a few highlights from our Annual Report that may be relevant for your sustainability, procurement or ESG priorities, to summarize the sustainability achievements Nolato have made that you can benefit from for example through a reduced Scope 3 emission:
- Renewable energy progress: Through a multi-year transition across its global operations, including increased renewable-electricity purchasing and power purchase agreements, Nolato reached 99.9% renewable electricity in 2025. Renewable sources accounted for 96.2% of the total energy supply, marking substantial progress toward fully renewable operations (p. 96 and 98).
- Outcome of Nolato’s 2020–2025 sustainability targets: The previous target period covered climate, energy efficiency, materials, chemicals, responsible business, workplace safety and supplier engagement. Outcomes included strong reductions in emissions and energy intensity, increased use of sustainable materials, continued chemicals substitution, and progress in environmental management and supplier assessments - while identifying areas for further improvement (pp. 38–40).
- Near-term science-based climate targets achieved ahead of schedule: By 2025, Nolato had reduced absolute market-based Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 96% and upstream Scope 3 emissions by 34%, compared with the 2021 baseline - surpassing its 2030 SBTi targets (p. 101).
- SBTi-validated net-zero target: Nolato’s commitment to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across its value chain by 2045 was validated and approved by SBTi in early 2026 (p. 92).
- New 2030 sustainability targets: Nolato’s framework for sustainable development covers climate, energy, circularity, social responsibility, responsible sourcing and governance. It includes climate and renewable-energy ambitions, increased use of sustainable polymer raw materials, reduced operational waste, circular customer partnerships, supplier requirements, workplace and diversity targets, and strengthened environmental and business-conduct practices (p. 33).
We are sharing this summary to provide a concise and transparent overview of Nolato’s sustainability progress and direction. It is intended to support supplier assessments, procurement and Scope 3 reduction, ESG reporting, and dialogue on reducing product-related climate impacts and advancing circular solutions together.
