Engineering Graduate

Excellent opportunity for an Engineering Graduate to develop skills across the Process Engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Project Management functions of the business.

Avenue - a Nolato company based in Finisklin Business Park, Sligo is an award-winning mould-building company, and a growing medical device precision injection moulding business that has been successfully serving Ireland and the broader European markets for 30 years. Avenue also brings expertise in building ultra-high-cavitation tooling for the medical device, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical markets.


The Engineering Graduate will have the opportunity to work across the Process Engineering, Design, Manufacturing and Project Management functions of the business on a rotational basis to develop the necessary engineering skills to support a leading Manufacturing operation. 


Your role will include:

  • Ensures required process development information accompanies new tooling.
  • Interpret processes received and makes necessary conversions for production equipment to be used.
  • Interact with Tooling Engineers and Scheduling to ensure timely scheduling of mould tests.
  • Record and maintain mould and process setup sheets.
    Improves and documents processes on existing moulds, using established systematic techniques.
  • Assists in trouble-shooting production processes.
  • Support Engineering Department and maintenance area with any design needs. 
  • Support the Metrology Engineer in performing First Article Inspections, capability studies and Measurement Systems Analysis on injection molded plastic parts.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the design & development of project plans with key deliverables, milestones, and timelines.
  • Support NPI and Validation activities.
  • Effective communication with management on progress and status of projects.
  • Customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate and liaise with internal and external stakeholders


Skills and Experience: 


  • Minimum Level 7 degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
  • Previous hands-on experience with mechanical equipment would be an advantage 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Pride in the quality and presentation of work
  • Proficient IT skills- strong MS Word and Excel skills
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise workloads
  • A mature and confident manner
  • Training and Support will be provided in each area
