Moulding Operations Engineer

Role Definition
Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Moulding Operations Engineer will have responsibility for supporting the ongoing day to day technical operations of our moulding operations, including preventative and corrective maintenance activities across moulding machines, ancillaries, robots, material drying & any supporting packaging items.
The position will work very closely with our Production Supervisor & the shift production teams to support our live operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan & co-ordinate preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Organise & support manufacturing equipment calibration & associated planning
- Assist the Production department in improving the manufacturing of products and develop the most optimum moulding process, tooling, and automation
- Attend and input into NPI kick off/scope meetings
- Act as a bridge support between New Product Introduction & Manufacturing to allow a seamless efficient transition
- Generation and update of SOPs, batch record updates and product changes where necessary
- Roll out training to the production moulding technical team to enable the seamless transfer of knowledge on project and manufacturing processes
- Lead process improvement efforts across a very active moulding environment
- Lead shop floor safety improvements
- Support all quality initiatives in the vein of continuous improvement
Required Skills:
- Experienced in tool setting, process set-up & debug in a fast-paced high-volume Injection Moulding environment
- Qualifications in a relevant discipline supporting plastic manufacturing is desirable
- Further career development training in Lean Manufacturing or Planning would be a benefit
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects or activities, and able to prioritise effectively
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills, which include but are not limited to presentation, organisational and management skills
- Knowledge of the Six Sigma approach and methodology for eliminating defects in the manufacturing process is desirable
- Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to communicate effectively
- Strong knowledge of MS Office
