Project Engineer

Come join Nolato Contour's team as a project engineer! You will be primarily responsible for providing technical solutions to our customers in the engineering of custom injection molding process, secondary operations, assemblies, and auxiliary processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing, directing, and coordinating engineering projects to budget and timelines as assigned to further the growth of Nolato Contour.


Nolato Contour specializes in injection molding and assembly of plastic and silicone for medical/pharma customers.

We have an immediate opening for a Project Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely delivery of quotation for new projects as well as engineering changes for existing jobs.
  • Identify and manage scope changes within projects in development.
  • Present new project releases to internal teams and management.
  • Prepare and manage project timelines (using MS Project software) and budgets based on accepted proposals.
  • Successfully work in a team environment where cross-functional support will be needed in other engineering areas such as Manufacturing, Process, Automation and Quality as well.
  • Analyze project success, profit and report on results.
  • Provide leadership on specific project management activities following new product introduction SOP.
  • Review product for DFM, compliance with good manufacturing practices, molding principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements.
  • Evaluate and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Prepare weekly project reports for customers using MS Project software.
  • Coordinate and lead meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Support MRB and CAPA processes.
  • Use IQMS ERP software for day-to-day activities and to keep alignment with organization.
  • Foster good external & internal customer relations and maintain effective communication via technical reporting.
  • Train supporting personnel.
  • Actively seeks training to improve skills and ensures skills learned during training are shared within the company.
  • Support and comply with all company, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14001 Policies, Procedures, SOP’s, Work Instructions as they apply to the job classification.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment keeping work areas free of clutter.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of experience in related manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA certified environment is desired. 
  • Project management ability with emphasis on the tooling and molding of injection molded product.
  • Vast knowledge manufacturing processes, and overall knowledge of the injection molding industry.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software is desired.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks for multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a positive, team player in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication with leadership capabilities supporting the company’s goals, objectives and philosophies
  • Employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
