Quality Engineer

Come join Nolato Contour's team as a quality engineer! You will be primarily responsible for serving as a technical resource to Quality Assurance, Customers, Production, and Engineering relative to the interpretation and application of customer drawings, specifications, statistical monitoring systems. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining criteria for new product and existing production applications.

Nolato Contour specializes in injection molding and assembly of plastic and silicone for medical/pharma customers.

  • Oversee/Coordinate various inspection functions including:
    o Process capability studies
    o Gage R&R studies (MSA)
    o Design of Experiments
    o Part and process validations
    o Review and advise on FAIR
    o Development of inspection fixturing
  • Develop validation / qualification plans; write protocols, validation reports using statistical analysis data.
  • Develop and maintain quality criteria and measurement methods for new and existing products.
  • Interpretation and application of customer product requirements.
  • Function as primary resource for the interpretation of customer drawings, standards and criteria.
  • Implement Statistical Process Control techniques. 
  • Work with customers on quality issues and support CAR/CAPA system using RCA methods.
  • Attend MRB and take part in disposition and root cause of MRB's.
  • Ensure highest possible product quality and adherence to the Nolato Contour quality system.
  • Use IQMS ERP software for day-to-day activities and to keep alignment with organization.
  • Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.
  • Foster good external & internal customer relations and maintain effective communication via technical reporting.
  • Train supporting personnel.
  • Actively seeks training to improve skills and ensures skills learned during training are shared within the company.
  •  Support and comply with all company, ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14001 Policies, Procedures, SOP’s, Work Instructions as they apply to the job classification.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment keeping work areas free of clutter.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality assurance in a plastics injection molding environment is desired.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control is desired.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and FDA certified environment is desired.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication with leadership capabilities supporting the company’s goals, objectives and philosophies.
  • Employee is required to sit, stand, walk, bend and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
