Quality Assurance Technician

Join Nolato in scenic Royalton, Vermont!  We are looking for a Quality Assurance Technician. This position is responsible for performing and documenting ongoing attribute and variable inspections on assigned molding machines. The inspections will be done in accordance with the QAR and/or Control Plan. Direct responsibility for ensuring that only product that meets all the established Quality Assurance Requirements are packaged and shipped to our customers.  

**This position is open in both Silicones and Royalton Operations.

JOB TITLE:

Quality Assurance Technician

REPORTS TO:

Quality Supervisor

DESCRIPTION:

The person holding this position will be responsible for performing and documenting ongoing attribute and variable inspections on assigned molding machines.  The inspections will be done in accordance with the QAR and/or Control Plan.   This position has the direct responsibility for ensuring that only product that meets all the established Quality Assurance Requirements are packaged and shipped to our customers.  The QAT has the responsibility, authority and obligation to document all non-conformances and to verbally communicate them to the Team Leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Read and follow all instructions on the Quality Assurance Requirements document and Control Plan if applicable.

Perform Gauging as required on the QAR and enter data into the SPC software.

Reviews SQC/SPC data and communicates out of control conditions to the Team Leader.

Record and maintain Batch records and supporting documentation.

Audit completed Batch records for accuracy before filing.

Perform final inspection and packaging audits.

Perform weigh count.

Completes the box templates on all completed boxes.

Perform rework and sort activities as assigned.

Visually inspect product to the requirements as specified on the QAR and the General Appearance Samples (GAS).

Document inspection results (good & bad) using the attribute tally sheets.

Perform line clearing in the event of process interruptions and/or adjustments.

Communicates machine and/or process problems to the Team Leader.

Package and handle product as specified on the QAR.

Report safety hazards to the Team Leader.

Separate runners from production, if needed.

Use assigned inspection stamp to identify each approved box of production.

Accurately counts defective product and enters it into the system.

Follow company safety rules, procedures, and policies and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Support the “5’s” A place for everything and everything in its place program.

This position will require occasional overtime.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, written instructions, and operating procedures.  Written communications skills are a must, as this position requires that detailed documentation of each assigned molding machine be properly recorded.  Must have effective verbal communication skills in order to communicate problems and issues to the supervisor and quality personnel.

May be required to stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to lift & carry up to 50 lbs.

May be required to work OT and weekends as assigned.

Requires a high school diploma, equivalent GED, Quality Control or prior injection molding experience.
