LSR injection molding

for medical and life science components

LSR is not just another polymer. It flows, cures and releases in its own way. Our teams are specialized in silicone and have spent decades tuning parameters, molds and processes to match the material, not the other way around. The result is stable processes, high yields and components that perform as specified.

Successful LSR parts are decided long before the first shot

We support you early with:

  • Design-for-manufacture support to reduce risk before tooling
  • Stable, repeatable molding processes built for consistency and scalability
  • Quality and traceability aligned with medical and life science expectations

This reduces risk, shortens time to industrialization and helps avoid costly changes late in the project.

Why choose Nolato MediTech?

DFM-First approach

We start with design-for-manufacturability (DMF) to reduce variation, improve yield, and ensure your part is optimized for robust, repeatable production.

Precision process control

Stable processes matter. We apply disciplined process control to secure consistent cycle times and reliable part-to-part repeatability throughout production.

Regulated environment know-how

We are accustomed to strict requirements and documentation expectations. Our teams support controlled manufacturing and quality routines aligned with demanding, highly regulated industries.

Cross-functional collaboration

Engineering, quality, tooling and operations work as one team to keep decisions fast and aligned, helping avoid late surprises and keeping your program on track.

Scalable solutions

Whether you are validating, ramping up or running high volume, we build solutions designed to scale, so performance and quality remain consistent as demand grows.

What is LSR injection molding

At Nolato, Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR) injection molding is a core capability within our Silicone Excellence program. It’s purpose-built for medical components that demand clean, stable, and highly repeatable production.

For applications with high cleanliness requirements, LSR production can be integrated into cleanroom manufacturing and supported by standardized, validated processes, in line with our focus on repeatability, reliability, and “right first time” execution.

Common uses in medtech:

  • Seals and gaskets for housings and fluid management
  • Diaphragms, membranes, and valve elements
  • Protective caps, covers, and damping/cushioning features

Precision molding for demanding applications

Whether it is tight tolerances, micro-features, thin walls or complex sealing geometries, our LSR injection molding is built to handle demanding designs. Controlled process windows, validated tooling and automated handling help secure:

  • Consistent dimensions and surface quality
  • Reliable bonding and sealing performance
  • Repeatability from batch to batch

Medical mindset as standard

For medical and other high-demand applications, quality and compliance are non-negotiable. Nolato MediTech operates with a medical mindset as standard:

  • Controlled environments and cleanroom production where needed
  • Validated processes and robust documentation
  • Traceability and quality systems built around patient safety

You get a silicone partner who understands both the process and the regulatory expectations around it.

From pilot to high-volume production

Your needs evolve. So does our way of supporting you:

  • Early prototypes and small-series runs for testing and design freeze
  • Industrialized, automated lines for stable serial production
  • Scalable capacity for long-term programs

This makes Nolato MediTech a long-term LSR partner, not just a toolmaker or molder.

What LSR injection molding with Nolato MediTech enables

  • Complex geometries that would be difficult or impossible with other materials
  • Soft-touch, elastic and durable parts that retain performance over time
  • Integrated functions such as sealing, cushioning, fluid handling or protection
  • Biocompatible solutions for use in contact with people and sensitive environments

From critical components in medical devices to advanced fluid management and sealing solutions, our LSR injection molding helps turn functional requirements into robust, manufacturable reality.

LSR injection molding FAQ

Can you help optimize my design before tooling?

Yes-our team can review part geometry, sealing strategy, tolerances, gating/venting needs, and risk points to improve manufacturability

Do you support overmolding (LSR-to-thermoplastic)?

We can support multi-material concepts where bonding, interfaces, and process stability are critical—share your requirements and materials.

How do you control flash and part consistency?

Flash control is addressed through tooling strategy, process window definition, and ongoing monitoring of critical parameters and outputs.

What information should I send for an RFQ?

A drawing (2D/3D), target volumes, material preferences (if known), key tolerances/CTQs, and any compliance or documentation requirements.

Do you provide validation documentation?

We support validation planning and documentation packages aligned to customer and regulatory expectations (scope depends on program needs).
